Radiofrequency Microneedling is a new minimally invasive treatment that is effective in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and aged skin. Adding radiofrequency to microneedling is a cutting-edge technique that further stimulate the body’s natural healing process and enhances collagen production leading to a firmer, rejuvenated appearance.
What is Radiofrequency Microneedling?
Radiofrequency microneedling creates micro-injuries in the skin which leads to the healing cascade and stimulates collagen production. The small needles penetrate into the deep layers of the skin stimulating collagen regeneration. This also helps to break up any scars or imperfections on the skin surface. Radiofrequency energy is then delivered to these deeper areas through the small needles which enhances the collagen stimulation. More collagen = more youthful looking skin.

Radiofrequency Microneedling can treat a variety of skin concerns including:
- Uneven tone/texture

A topical numbing cream will be applied for 20-60 minutes prior to the procedure. Injections of numbing medications may also be used. During the procedure, you may experience some discomfort while the Radiofrequency Microneedling device is being used. We use fans, ice packs, and various devices for cooling to minimize any temporary discomfort. There may be swelling, redness, bruises, and/or scabs in the treated area after the procedure.
What Should I Expect After a Radiofrequency Microneedling Procedure?
For 24-48 hours after the procedure, your skin may appear red and have some swelling. It is safe to wear makeup and sunscreen 24 hours after the procedure. Everyone is different, but the majority of patients feel comfortable returning to work and their normal daily activities the next day. Following the post-procedure instructions given to you by our office will ensure the best results after your laser procedure. Diligent sunscreen use and sun avoidance for two weeks before and two weeks after your laser treatment is essential.
Can I combine Radiofrequency Microneedling with other procedures?
Yes! Most patients choose to apply Platelet-Rich-Plasma immediately after a session of Radiofrequency Microneedling. This can minimize any discomfort, speed healing, and boost results. Our Dermatologists will discuss this option with you and form a comprehensive treatment plan to achieve your goals.
