Platelet Rich Plasma Rejuvenation

Our bodies are extremely powerful when it comes to self-healing and rejuvenation; the innovative science behind Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is one example. Having access to the most cutting-edge treatments, including PRP therapy, is one of the many perks of being a St. Petersburg Skin and Laser patient.

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy?

PRP is a non-surgical treatment for skin rejuvenation. Platelet-rich plasma is filled with growth factors that have a wide range of regenerative properties. PRP can be used for anti-aging, skin texture improvement, acne scar treatment, hair loss, and more.

How Does PRP Treatment Work?

Our staff draw a small tube of blood that is then placed in a centrifuge. The blood is processed, separating the platelets and plasma from other components of the blood (red blood cells, white blood cells, etc.). The growth factor extract is then injected into or placed on the desired treatment areas.

What are the Options for PRP Treatment?

Dr. Kesty uses PRP in a variety of procedures to help her patients feel more radiant. PRP can be injected under the eyes for rejuvenation of the eye area. PRP can also be applied after Laser Resurfacing to boost collagen stimulation from the Laser and speed the healing process. Patients may also choose to take home a custom blended serum including their own PRP growth factors to use at home for 60-90 days to build collagen and rejuvenate the skin. PRP can also be injected into the scalp to stimulate hair growth. Dr. Kesty customizes a rejuvenation plan for each patient including the use of PRP.

What are the side effects of PRP treatment?

Side effects from treatment with PRP are generally mild and may include bruising and mild pain at the sites injected with PRP. These are temporary and generally go away within minutes to hours of the treatment.

When will I see results of PRP treatments?

Depending on how the PRP is used in your rejuvenation treatment plan, results may be seen at 8 weeks after treatment and generally continue to improve for 3-6 months.

Can PRP be combined with other rejuvenation procedures?

Yes! PRP is ideally combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures including Laser Resurfacing, Aquagold Microneedling, and Radiofrequency. Our Dermatologists will discuss all the options to enhance your anti-aging regimen with the addition of PRP.

What is the Cost of Treatment?
